I was inspired by the mythological story of King Midas and his golden touch. The Greek god Dionysus granted Midas with this gift which turned to curse, everything he touched turned to gold. Dionysus is the Greek god of wine & fertility and he was known to have a modest number of lovers. In this collection I wanted to mesh editorial with mythology and storytelling. The models are the would be lovers of Dionysus and King Midas.

Using hair art techniques of hair paper and glue work, the entirety of this collection is made of hair. I saw an elaborate hat collection at a museum and wanted to create head pieces out of hair, very clean, polished, sophisticated hats that you wouldn’t necessarily know they were made using the medium of hair.
