Fear of Needles – Common Side effects to Covid-19 Vaccination

Making an Informed Decision about Vaccination – What you need to know

A Vaccinated Industry is a Safe, Sustainable and Successful Industry

In the latest Covid-19 news worldwide, Omicron is many times more contagious than Delta. One infected person has the ability to infect up to 10 people. Whether it is “less severe” is not known yet, we just don’t have the data yet over time. If the sheer numbers of cases go up, the numbers of hospitalisations, severe, long-term illnesses, and possible deaths are going to go up as well.

Vaccination is a critical tool in controlling this spread, plus the development and spread of possibly much more serious variants in the population. Past and current information shows the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the known and potential risks.

Vaccination as a matter of business practice - A major business consideration to be confronted is loss of business to other salons who have sought an extra edge, with the drive towards vaccinated service providers and companies advertising their vaccination status. Leaving it up to the consumer to decide where to go may affect your bottom line as an unvaccinated salon.

How can we make ourselves and each other feel safe?

We all fear making a decision to have the vaccine and risk suffering an adverse reaction to the vaccine. One thing we can do is look at the possibility of any adverse reactions.

Common Side Effects

On the arm where you got the shot:

  • Pain

  • Redness

  • Swelling

Throughout the rest of your body:

  • Tiredness

  • Headache

  • Muscle pain

  • Chills

  • Fever

  • Nausea

After a Second Shot

Side effects after the second shot may be more intense than the ones experienced after the first shot. These side effects are normal signs that the body is building protection and should go away within a few days.

We have defeated the killer viruses of the past, smallpox and polio and so many others, with vaccination – Covid-19 is no different.
